"I've got a small, old house with no central HVAC. So, it's heated and cooled with split units and window units. This is a huge step up from a heat pump window unit for not much more money. "Not a DIY system, but worth it as it works really really well and you're going with a top brand like Cooper and Hunter. I ended up installing it myself as I could not afford to go with a technician. If you have some technical skills, the install is a breeze. Some great install videos on youtube. The mini split works well both as an airconditioner and a heat pump." Efficient device, great support, almost anyone can install these!
"I have two of these. This units were fairly easy to install and set up. In total about 4 hours. I have a Sunroom off my kitchen. Unfortunately the kitchen has one furnace vent. The back part of the house would heat up so much the thermostat in the dining room would think the house was warmer than it was. This led to the main a/c unit running all the time to compensate. Placing this in the sunroom close enough to the kitchen has worked great so far. This side of the house is much cooler now.
